Tottenham and West Ham in battle to sign Wolves star

West Ham will reportedly rival Tottenham for the signing of Wolves winger Adama Traore this month.

The Telegraph claim Wolves boss Bruno Lage is keen on signing three new players during the transfer window but that it will require the “reluctant sale” of Traore.

And Spurs are said to have the opportunity to sign him for £20 million this month despite a previous valuation of £50 million by the Molineux club, with his contract set to expire in 2023.

The north London club have been linked with a move for Traore in the past and the report states that Antonio Conte’s side could make another move for the Spanish international following given his now discounted price.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with the attacker in recent months, but the Telegraph claim West Ham will also compete to sign the 25-year-old – who is yet to score or assist a goal this season.

Traore has already played for three English clubs since leaving Barcelona as a youngster – Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and then Wolves – and is known for his lightning quick pace.

He has played 150 times for Wolves, scoring ten and assisting 18 times, and has represented the Spanish national team on eight occasions.
