Augustin looks set to move to Germany

Paris Saint-German striker Jean-Kevin Augustin – a player Tottenham have been keeping an eye on – looks likely to move to Germany.

Borussia Dortmund have been leading a string of Bundesliga clubs interested in snapping up the France Under-21 international this summer.

Dortmund are reportedly in talks over the sale of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and have identified Augustin as a possible replacement.

Augustin, 19, has been watched by Tottenham since the 2015-16 season and they previously explored a loan option.

Despite Spurs signing Vincent Janssen a year ago, Augustin has continued to be monitored as a potential replacement should the Dutchman leave this summer.

But Augustin was tracked by the previous scouting operation at Spurs, led by Paul Mitchell, and is not among Spurs’ top targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

They were also scouting Young Boys midfielder Denis Zakaria at manager Mauricio Pochettino’s request, but the club are not currently considering a move for the Switzerland international either.

Augustin scored once in 12 appearances for PSG last season, and has scored two goals in 28 appearances for the Ligue 1 runners-up in total.

The Paris-born forward, who joined PSG’s academy from Athletic Club de Boulogne-Billancourt as a 12-year-old in 2009, has represented France at every youth level from Under-16 to Under-21.
