Tottenham are confident Dele Alli will sign a new contract with the club, according to the Daily Telegraph.

It comes amid continued speculation over Alli’s future and reports that he wants to be paid as much as Spurs’ top earners Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.

The England international is also in the process of hiring a new agent, which has also triggered speculation about his future.

He signed a six-year contract last year and reportedly earns around £50,000 a week, which would put him significantly lower on the pay scale than the likes of Kane and goalkeeper Lloris.

But the Telegraph say Alli, 21, is expected to sign a new contract that will see his wages rise from around £50,000 a week to £80,000 a week.

That would still be less than Kane and Lloris, who reportedly earn around £100,000 a week, but is more than than the likes of Christian Eriksen are currently on.

The Telegraph also add that the England camp believe that speculation over Alli’s future has affected his performances for his country and that an improve deal would help him settle and return to his best form ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
