Many Tottenham fans on Twitter were critical of recent signing Serge Aurier’s display in the Champions League win against Apoel Nicosia.
Harry Kane’s hat-trick secured the victory for Spurs but many fans were unconvinced by Aurier’s performance at full-back.
Aurier’s crossing was of particular concern, with a number of wayward deliveries attracting criticism.
I remember Serge Aurier used to be quite fast. Seems to have completely lost that. Very laboured. #COYS #THFC

Aurier looks clumsy, lazy and unfit tonight. Oh and can’t cross for toffee #COYS

Aurier really needs to improve his crosses, with how much time and open space he has, they need to be better #COYS

However, some fans are more optimistic about Aurier’s potential, with some pointing to the improvement in full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose during their time at Spurs.
Very little to go on, but Aurier looks like a guy with tons of ability but limited game intelligence. Doubtless Poch will sort him out #thfc

Poch worked wonders with Walker, older more erratic player than Aurier. I back him to work wonders with Serge too #COYS #THFC #Aurier
