Report: Tottenham to promise Allegri money to spend if Pochettino goes

Tottenham could turn to Massimiliano Allegri if Mauricio Pochettino leaves for Juventus this summer, it is claimed.

Pochettino, who was previously linked with Real Madrid and Manchester United, and who has repeatedly said he plans to stay at Spurs, is now being linked with Juve.

It comes after it was announced that experienced manager Allegri is leaving the Turin club.

The Sunday Express claim that Allegri could replace Pochettino and that Spurs will give the Italian assurances over their spending power in order to persuade the Italian to take over.

Pochettino has led Spurs to the Champions League final and has repeatedly responded to speculation about his future by insisting he is happy at the club.

“I am very happy at Tottenham. I have four more years on my contract. Maybe 99 per cent of my colleagues have a different mindset,” Pochettino said at a recent press conference when asked about reports he could take another job at the end of the season.

“I enjoy it day by day and whatever happens tomorrow will be a consequence of today. But I don’t look at things too far ahead or think very long term. When I signed my contract I did it because I was happy.”
