Report: Spurs expect interest in Pochettino

There continues to be speculation over the future of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Guardian say Spurs are braced for interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Pochettino has been touted as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho at United and has long been linked with Real.

The Guardian believe Spurs expect a fight to keep him in the summer after his stock rose further when a draw with Barcelona this week secured a place in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

The newspaper also say that Spurs’ players believe their boss will have a decision to make on his future at the end of the campaign.

It comes after Tottenham left-back Danny Rose appeared to suggest that Pochettino will attract offers.

“It’s no coincidence that every day you read Real Madrid want him or United want him,” Rose said.

“It’s exactly what he deserves. What he has done here in the last four or five years has been amazing.”

Pochettino was the only Premier League manager not to sign a player during the summer transfer window.

“It’s no secret all the teams have spent a lot more than what we have,” Rose added.

“The manager did not make any signings in the summer and he is probably not going to make any in January.

“So for him to do what he has done and what he is doing now speaks volumes. Like I said, it’s no coincidence big teams are being linked with him.”
