Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham will only deserve to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages if they beat Group B winners Barcelona on Tuesday.
Spurs must match Inter Milan’s result against PSV when they face the LaLiga club at the Nou Camp if they are to join them in the last 16.
At a pre-match press conference, boss Pochettino said: “If we want to deserve qualification we have to win tomorrow.
“The idea was to come to Barcelona already qualified. We deserved better results in Milan and Holland.
“We are going to be ready to compete in our best condition. We need to think like this if we are going to do something important.
“We are going to know what’s going on in Milan. It’s important to know what’s going on but focus on what we have to do.”
Tottenham have travelled without right-backs Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier for the do-or-die clash.
Both are struggling with groin injuries and have not travelled to Spain.
Erik Lamela is fit after a thigh injury and could start as Spurs go into the game having to match Inter Milan’s result against PSV in the final round of Group B matches.
