Pochettino: Spurs can keep best players

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that the club can keep their best players.

It follows speculation over the futures of the likes of Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Eric Dier.

The Sun claimed this week that Dier has become unsettled by recent reports he is wanted by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

The newspaper claimed that England internationals Dier, Rose and Kyle Walker all want to leave the club.

Manchester City have been linked with both Rose – who is currently injured – and Walker ahead of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to reporters after Spurs’ thumping 6-1 win at Leicester, Pochettino said: “The players we want to keep will be here next season. If any players leave, it’s Tottenham’s decision.”

There have also been reports that Walker is on his way out of Spurs after falling out of favour with Pochettino.

But the Argentine insists he is unfazed by reports linking Spurs players with moves away from the club.

“I think we are so, so, so calm about our big players and they are so happy here,” Pochettino said.

“We are building a very exciting project. The players must feel they are part of us and want to share in our success.”
