Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Tottenham have no interest in signing former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi.

Rossi is currently training with United while searching for a new club and reports have linked him with a possible move to Spurs.

However, speaking at a press conference on Friday afternoon, Spurs boss Pochettino ruled out a move for the Italian.

“There are many names that appear in every transfer window,” Pochettino said.

“He is another name to add to the list. It is a rumour and we are not considering him. It is a rumour and it is not a possibility.”

And Pochettino poured cold water over the notion that Tottenham will look to buy a striker following the injury to Harry Kane.

Reports have claimed that Kane being ruled out with an ankle problem has led to a change of heart at the club and a willingness to invest in a new forward.

The likes of Barcelona’s Malcom have been linked with a move.

But Pochettino said: “It (Kane’s injury) is not going to change our mind. We are open to adding to our squad but that is not going to put pressure on us to sign.

“The market is very difficult. If we find the player that is going to help us and add quality we are more than open to make that happen. At the minute there is no player.”
