Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted he has no problem with Danny Rose’s reaction to being dropped against Arsenal.
Rose admitted he was “fuming” after being left out for Saturday’s north London derby.
It fuelled speculation that the England left-back could leave in January – Manchester United have been linked with a move for him.
However, Rose returned to the side for this week’s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund and Pochettino says he spoke to the player and is happy with his attitude.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Pochettino said: “The day before we had a conversation and he never showed me that he was angry.
“I like it when a player feels that emotion as it looks they are wanting to help the team and play.
“It is not easy when you take a decision about the starting 11 and 18 in the squad and a player is not playing, they are not happy, but that is normal. Every player wants to play.
“But his performance (against Borussia Dortmund) was good and we cannot complain about his behaviour.”
Pochettino will again be without defender Toby Alderweireld and midfielder Victor Wanyama for the home game against West Brom on Saturday.
