Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is convinced Dele Alli is returning to his best form.

Alli has been criticised for some below-par performances this season, has not scored in the Premier League for more than two months, and was at the centre of controversy in Spurs’ 3-0 win at Burnley.

Harry Kane scored a hat-trick at Turf Moor, where the striker’s first goal came from the penalty spot after Kevin Long was adjudged to have fouled Alli.

The England midfielder was arguably fortunate to still be on the pitch at that point, as he escaped with a yellow card following an early lunge at Charlie Taylor.

However, speaking at his post-match press conference, Pochettino insisted: “It was no more than a yellow and the penalty was a penalty.

“I am happy with his performance and his contribution. He was always in the game trying to help the team.

“It’s coming. I think Dele is coming. We feel it’s coming and of course he’s going to score.”

The in-form Kane is now the joint top scorer in the top flight this season, with 15 goals in 19 games.

He is is also the first Tottenham player to score 50 goals away from home in the Premier League.
