Mauricio Pochettino is being linked with Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane quit as their manager.
It comes despite Pochettino having recently signed a new five-year contract at Tottenham.
The Daily Mirror declare that Spurs “are braced for Real Madrid to launch an all-out pursuit” of Pochettino and that he is the preferred choice of Real president Florentino Perez.
The Sun, on the other hand, reckon Real’s first choice to replace Zidane is Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Pochettino’s new deal does not include a release clause and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is certain to fight hard to keep him, the Daily Telegraph reports, while The Times say Spurs would demand £42.5m in compensation if Real look to appoint the Argentine.
Meanwhile, The Sun claim Chelsea will try to persuade Zidane to take over as their new manager – and that his former France team-mate Laurent Blanc will be the new front-runner for the job if Zidane is not interested.
The Sun say Chelsea, widely tipped to replace Antonio Conte this summer, will at least make an informal approach to see if Zidane can be tempted to take over at Stamford Bridge.
The Sun say former Paris St-Germain boss Blanc is now in the frame because Chelsea have got cold feet over Maurizio Sarri, who had been touted as the favourite to replace Conte.
The Daily Mail also suggest Blanc could be a contender – and also say former Chelsea boss Avram Grant might be brought back if the club’s search for a new manager proves to be problematic.
The Guardian say Sarri remains Chelsea’s preferred choice but that the club are reluctant to pay the kind of compensation fee Napoli appear to be demanding despite him no longer being their manager.
There is speculation that Roman Abramovich’s decision to shelve the planned Bridge redevelopment is an indication that the Chelsea owner could sell the club.
The Times say Abramovich would want the estimated £1.17bn he has invested in Chelsea back were he to sell.
And Unai Emery has a break clause in his contract at Arsenal that can be triggered after two seasons, The Times say.
The newspaper reports that Arsenal would therefore be able to dismiss the Spaniard a year early if he does not impress at the Emirates Stadium.
Emery recently signed a three-year deal to take over from Arsene Wenger as Gunners boss.
