Tottenham are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after seeing off Borussia Dortmund.
Harry Kane’s goal gave Spurs a 1-0 victory in Germany and a 4-0 win on aggregate on a brilliant night for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
And while fans are used to Kane being a hero, the performance of Serge Aurier at right-back went some way to answering the right-back’s critics.
Aurier was defensively solid – although his apparent inability to take throw-ins remains a bizarre feature of his game – and many fans on Twitter were delighted with his performance.
Some feel he would be a better option than the out of form Kieran Trippier, who was rested for the game.
Tottenham have a right-back issue currently, but Aurier tonight went under the radar and was brilliant. Needs a run of games now. #COYS

Full-backs are area where Tottenham Hotspur have looked their weakest this season, but tonight, both @Serge_Aurier and @Ben_Davies33 were brilliant! #COYS

Aurier is better than Trippier. His mentality is questionable at times and he does cost goals but he’s better than Trippier for sure #THFC

I once had a dream that I saw Moussa Sissoko run a Champions League knockout match from the middle of the park.
I also dreamt that Davies and Aurier pocketed Sancho and Reus away at Dortmund.
We also had the audacity to bring Danny Rose on in CM when 4-0 up!#COYS #THFC

So many great performances tonight, but MOTM between Sissoko, Lloris, Vertonghen and Aurier for me. #COYS #THFC #DORTOT
