Man Utd tipped to move for Alderweireld

Tottenham are resigned to losing Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper say a clause in the 30-year-old’s contract could see him leave Spurs for £26m and that United are ready to swoop at the end of the season.

Alderweireld has so far not signed a new contract and in January the club activated a counter-clause that would allow the Belgian centre-back to leave for just £26m within the final two weeks of this summer’s transfer window.

The Mirror say Juventus and Barcelona also want Alderweireld but that United “are set to push their way to the front of the queue” in the battle to sign him.

There also continues to be speculation over the future of Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Sun again suggest that Eriksen, whose contract expires next year, could be on his way to Real Madrid.

The Sun say Spurs do not want to sell Eriksen but could be forced to do so if he will not sign a new deal this summer because he could otherwise end up leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires.

It has been claimed that Eriksen is wanted by Real along with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
