Paper round-up: Leeds linked with Llorente

Leeds United want Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente, according to The Sun.

Llorente previously played under Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao, who reportedly want the Spaniard to return to them.

But The Sun say Bielsa is ready to give Llorente the chance to stay in England by joining him at Elland Road.

Reece Oxford wants to stay in the Premier League if West Ham sell him in January, again according to The Sun.

The newspaper reports that Oxford, who is 20 next month, believes there have been three bids of between £10m and £20m for him.

The Sun say Oxford wants to stay in England and is concerned West Ham might try to sell him to German club Borussia Monchengladbach, where he spent last season on loan.

The Sun also say Chelsea want to sign Inter Milan’s Slovakia defender Milan Skriniar, who is apparently rated at £70m.

And Les Ferdinand is on a four-man shortlist to take over as the Football Association’s technical director, the Daily Mail reports.

The FA are looking to appoint a replacement for Dan Ashworth, who is leaving to become technical director at Brighton.

The Mail say the FA have whittled the field of candidates down to four and it includes QPR director of football Ferdinand, who is set to have an interview.

The other three are reportedly former Brentford boss Mark Warburton, Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell and the FA’s head of development team coaching Matt Crocker.
