Tottenham youngster Anton Walkes has joined Portsmouth on loan.
The 20-year-old will spend the rest of the season at Fratton Park, giving him the chance to play first-team football.
Walkes is a product of Tottenham’s academy and made his senior in a League Cup victory over Gillingham in September 2016, when he came on as a substitute.
He also played first-team football during a loan spell at Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United last year.
Walkes is primarily a midfielder but can also operate as a defender.
“He can play in midfield, the centre of defence or at right-back and he’s an athletic player, so we’re pleased to add him for the rest of the season,” Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett told his club’s website.
“The experience of coming to a club like Pompey will be a good one for him and he’ll be keen to help us move towards the top six.
“He’s someone I have a lot of time for and think he’s got a very bright future. He’s certainly got all the tools to succeed.”
