Paper round-up: Tottenham ready to sell Alderweireld to Roma

The Daily Mail say Tottenham are ready to sell Toby Alderweireld to Roma in exchange for midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

It comes amid speculation over Alderweireld’s future and reports that Spurs are keen to snap up the £40m-rated Zaniolo.

The Mail also say interest in Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose has failed to materialise as Tottenham hoped it would.

Both full-backs have been linked with several clubs, with Spurs reportedly open to offers for both.

Meanwhile, The Star say Christian Eriksen has told Tottenham he wants to leave if a top club comes in for him.

The Sun pick up on reports that Manchester City are set to beat Spurs to the signing of Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

Crystal Palace are reportedly determined not to sell Wilfried Zaha to Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror say Palace are angry about what they see as a deliberate attempt by the Gunners to unsettle Zaha and as a result the Eagles are unlikely to agree to a deal.

Reports say Arsenal have offered around £40m for the Ivory Coast winger and are looking to give Palace players in exchange.

The Mirror say that won’t appease Palace and declare that offers “will get short shrift”.

The Mirror also say Atletico Madrid want to sign Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette to replace the Barcelona-bound Antoine Griezmann.

The Daily Express reports that Lacazette’s agent has held talks with Arsenal to discuss the player’s future.

The Sun claim Arsenal made a “cheeky” £50m approach for Harry Maguire, who is wanted by Manchester City. That figure is said to be £35m short of Leicester’s valuation of the England defender.

Celtic want £25m for Arsenal target Kieran Tierney, according to the Daily Star.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has agreed a new long-term contract at Chelsea, the Daily Telegraph reports.

And the Mirror reports that West Ham have received a £19.7m from Chinese Super League club Shanghai SiPG for Marko Arnautovic but want £45m.
