Jordan says Spurs should take ‘great opportunity’ to ditch Paratici

Simon Jordan has suggested that Tottenham would be better off without Fabio Paratici.

The managing director may have to step away from his role at the club after Fifa extended his suspension to apply worldwide.

Paratici was given a 30-month ban from Italian football in January after his former club Juventus were found guilty of false accounting.

He was sporting director and managing director at Juve before joining Tottenham in June 2021.

Spurs say they are “urgently seeking further clarification from Fifa”, whose decision had been taken “with no advance notice to any of the parties involved”.

Paratici and Juventus have both appealed against Fifa’s ruling.

But former Crystal Palace chairman believes Paratici’s role in recruiting managers and players during his time at the club means Spurs should look to offload him.

Speaking on Talksport, Jordan said: “Where is the benefit in this man? He recommended Nuno Espirito Santo, he recommended Conte and went after Conte and a fit that’s clearly not worked.

“What was the point of Djed Spence? What was the point of this player and that player? Ivan Perisic hasn’t done much since he’s been there.

“This is all on this guy. So why are we fighting if we’re Tottenham to keep him? I actually think it’s a great opportunity to clear the decks thanks very much.”
