Napoli, recently linked with Kieran Trippier, fear they will be priced out of a move for the Tottenham defender, according to reports.
The Sun on Sunday say Italian sources are suggesting that Napoli expect Spurs to demand £40m for Trippier even though he has had a poor season.
It follows reports that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will be given £150m to revamp his squad this summer and that Trippier is one of the players who could leave as part of a shake-up.
He has three years left on his contract at Spurs, who are among the clubs being linked with a summer move for Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Sun on Sunday say Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti would expect to spend around £20m on a new full-back, so Trippier could be out of his reach.
The newspaper say Everton are also interested in Trippier, who impressed for England at last year’s World Cup but whose performances this season have attracted criticism.
Reports have suggested that both he and fellow right-back Serge Aurier could be offloaded at the end of the season.
Max Aarons, who has impressed for Championship leaders Norwich City this term, has also been touted as a possible new right-back for Spurs.
