Newcastle are seemingly ready to compete with the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea in the race to sign QPR star Ebere Eze.
The Chronicle reports that Newcastle have been monitoring the England Under-21 international ahead of a possible move for him.
Spurs have been strongly linked with Eze, as have Crystal Palace and several other clubs.
Those clubs include Chelsea and West Ham, who have been reportedly keeping tabs on the exciting forward.
It seems a question of when rather than if Eze will move to the Premier League.
QPR first-team coach Neil Banfield recently told West London Sport that offers of £20m and above would be difficult to resist.
The Sun say that has put off Palace and Sheffield United.
Banfield said: “If the offers come in of £20m and £20m-plus, I don’t think there would be many clubs that could turn that down.
“Obviously we don’t want them to leave. We’d want them to stay at the club, get the club promoted and play in the Premier League for the Rangers.
“We’d love to get promoted and play with Ebs, Ilias (Chair) and Brighty (Bright Osayi-Samuel), but I think you’ve got to be realistic.
“The real world is that if a club comes in now with loads of money then those lads have got to go. It’s just a fact of life.”
