Man Utd could yet snap up Tottenham target Sessegnon – report

Tottenham still face competition from a number of clubs, including Manchester United, for the signing of Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon.

The highly-rated 18-year-old is expected to leave Craven Cottage in the wake of Fulham’s relegation back to the Championship.

There have been reports that Tottenham are very much in pole position to sign him.

The Daily Mail have reported that Spurs are closing in on a deal to sign Sessegnon, while the Evening Standard say he wants to join Spurs as he is keen to remain in London.

It has also been suggested that Sessegnon is swayed by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino’s record of developing young English players.

However, the Daily Telegraph say the likes of United are still providing stiff competition in the race to sign Sessegnon and could yet land him, although Spurs lead the race.

The Telegraph believe United, Paris Saint-Germain and German side Red Bull Leipzig are all interested and this could lead to a bidding war.

Sessegnon has a year remaining on his contract and Fulham face the prospect of having to sell him this summer to avoid him running down the remainder of his deal.

Reports suggest he is likely to be sold for around £30m.
