Arteta refuses to be drawn on Eriksen reports

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has refused to be drawn on the recent speculation linking the Gunners with a move for former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

The Danish midfielder has struggled to make an impact since leaving north London to join Inter Milan.

Inter are reportedly looking to loan him out in January and Eriksen has been linked with a possible return to Spurs.

Arsenal have also been linked with him and Arteta was asked at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon if he thought Eriksen was a player who could improve his squad.

Arteta laughed the question off and was clearly in no mood to fuel the speculation.

He said: “There are a lot of players out there that can improve any team but obviously we’re not going to discuss individuals.”

Arteta was speaking on the eve of his side’s Europa League match against Norwegian outfit Molde.

And the Spaniard insisted that Arsenal cannot afford to take them for granted.

“They are a really organised team. They are dominant in their league and they are so used to winning football matches,” he said.

“I expect them to have a real go. They will be aggressive when they play against us.”
