Tottenham v Manchester City player ratings

Tottenham were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City on Monday evening. Here’s how we rated each Spurs player in the game at Wembley.

Hugo Lloris: 6

Had no chance with Riyad Mahrez’s goal and made a fine save to keep out a further shot from the Algeria international. Saw a poor goal-kick go straight to Sergio Aguero early in the second half.

Kieran Trippier: 5

The right-back’s miscued header in the sixth minute was punished as Raheem Sterling teed up Riyad Mahrez’s goal, and he had other nervy moments at the back thereafter.

Davinson Sanchez: 6

Perhaps could have shown more anticipation with the goal but not a bad performance in general. 6

Toby Alderweireld: 6

Very similar to Sanchez.

Ben Davies: 6

Given plenty of trouble in the first half by the likes of Mahrez. Booked late on.

Eric Dier: 5

Came off midway through the second half having not been able to really impose himself on proceedings.

Mousa Dembele: 6

Outshone in midfield by his City counterpart Fernandinho.

Moussa Sissoko: 6

Showed decent endeavour. Failed to make the most of a good opening in the first half as he tried to pick out a team-mate from the right and saw his delivery intercepted.

Erik Lamela: 6

Fed Kane with a couple of nice passes in the first half, before blowing a great opportunity in the 80th minute as his shot went over the bar from close range.

Lucas Moura: 5

The Brazilian’s most notable contribution was being booked for diving in the first half.

Harry Kane: 5

Was left frustrated after sending a shot over the bar soon after Riyad Mahrez’s goal and then being thwarted by Ederson later in the first half.

Harry Winks (for Dier, 67):  6

Fairly lively after being introduced.

Dele Alli (for Dembele, 75): 7

Teed up a couple of chances for team-mates, including the big the one for Lamela.

Christian Eriksen (for Moura, 81): 6

Had an effort saved by Ederson.
