Leeds United boss Sam Allardyce says his side will look to exploit Tottenham’s weaknesses in a game the Yorkshire club must win.
They will go down if they fail to beat Spurs – and could be relegated even if they do, depending on how Everton and Leicester fare.
But Spurs, with chairman Daniel Levy continuing to attract criticism, have looked vulnerable at the back this season, not least in their recent second-half capitulation in losing at home to Brentford.
Harry Kane scored an early goal to put them ahead but the Bees hit back to win 3-1.
And Allardyce hopes Leeds will also be able to capitalise on those frailties.
Speaking on Friday at his pre-match press conference, Allardyce said: “Tactics have to be put into place.
“Tottenham’s outstanding strength is their front lads. When Tottenham have the ball our lads have to make sure that is not successful.
“After that the question is what are their weaknesses. We saw a lot of weaknesses against Brentford last week that we have got to try to exploit.
“We have got to do that the best we possibly can and play the best game we possibly can.”
However, Leeds’ own shortcomings were evident during their recent defeat at West Ham, who came from behind to beat them.
Allardyce knows his players cannot afford a repeat of that second-half display.
He admitted: “They have to play for the entire period. We can’t afford to do what we did against West Ham, which is get lost in the second half and we couldn’t recover.”
