Spurs offer Villa £15m for Grealish

Tottenham have offered Aston Villa £15m for Jack Grealish.

Chelsea have also been linked with the 22-year-old midfielder, who is expected to leave financially-troubled Villa this summer.

West London Sport recently reported that Fulham, promoted to the Premier League after beating Villa in the Championship play-off final, are also among clubs interested in Grealish.

Spurs have made the first move – although the offer is for considerably less than Villa want for the player. The Midlands club are reportedly looking for as much as £40m.

Meanwhile, Toby Alderweireld has suggested that he could stay at Tottenham despite being tipped to leave.

Manchester United are interested in the defender, who is at the World Cup with Belgium.

Asked by reporters if he might still be a Spurs player next season, he replied: “Yeah, why not?

“I have two years left on my contract. I don’t know what is going to happen.”

There has been speculation over Alderweireld’s future for some time, with talks over a new deal so far coming to nothing.

He made just 14 appearances for Tottenham in the Premier League last season, having initially been injured and later left out by boss Maurico Pochettino amid growing uncertainty over the centre-back’s future.
