Conflicting reports over Eriksen as Spanish press say deal has been agreed

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid, according to Spanish newspaper AS.

There has been much speculation over the future of the Denmark international, whose Tottenham contract expires next year.

Reports in Spain have regularly suggested that deals are close or have already been agreed for the likes of Eriksen and Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

And AS are now claiming that Eriksen will not sign a new deal at Spurs and is set to make the move to Madrid.

The Sun, on the other hand, say Real are prepared to wait until 2020 and pick Eriksen up on a free transfer when his Spurs deal expires.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror declare that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not sell Eriksen on the cheap despite his contract situation.

The Mirror say Levy will demand 150m euros (around £128m) for Eriksen despite the risk of losing him for no transfer fee further down the line.

And the Daily Telegraph say Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will again have little money to spend this summer.

It follows recent reports that Pochettino could be given as much as £150m by Levy to revamp the squad ahead of Spurs’ first full season at their new stadium.
