Paper round-up: Burnley keen on Janssen

Burnley are reportedly interested in signing Vincent Janssen from Tottenham.

It follows reports that Spurs are willing to sell the striker during this transfer window despite injuries reducing their current attacking options.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Spurs are prepared to take £15m for Janssen, who is out of the first-team picture under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

And the Daily Mail say Burnley are considering paying the fee in order to take Janssen to Turf Moor.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express say Spurs’ injury woes mean youngster Kazaiah Sterling could feature in Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea, whose boss Maurizio Sarri has held a clear-the-air meeting with his players, the Daily Mail say.

Sarri launched an astonishing attack on his side after their defeat at Arsenal, questioning their attitude and motivation.

The Mail say Sarri still has support from a majority of Blues players but that some are privately questioning his decisions.

The newspaper say “there is bemusement” over Sarri’s decision to deploy Eden Hazard as a striker.

The Daily Mirror claim Chelsea are interested in Bristol City winger Antoine Semenyo, who is currently on loan at Newport.

Metro have picked up on reports in Italy linking Arsenal with Juventus’ highly-rated young goalkeeper Emil Audero.

The Italy Under-21 international is currently on loan at Sampdoria and his Juve contract is due to expire this summer.

It is claimed that Arsenal are considering signing him as a replacement for Petr Cech, who will retire at the end of the season.

Arsenal have investigated the possibility of signing Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez on loan, the Independent reports.

The Daily Star claim Real would rather agree a deal with Tottenham for the Colombia star as a so-called sweetener ahead of a possible move for Christian Eriksen, who continues to be linked with the Spanish club.

Fulham striker Aboubakar Kamara is in talks to join Turkish outfit Yeni Malatyaspor on loan, the Mail reports.

The Telegraph reports that Kamara’s Fulham career appears to be over after he was ordered to train with the club’s development squad.

And Millwall are close to reaching an agreement with Lewisham Council that would see the club stay at The Den, according to The Guardian.
