Tottenham fans on Twitter have been hailing Harry Winks following the young midfielder’s outstanding performance in the Champions League victory over Real Madrid.
Dele Alli scored twice and Christian Eriksen also netted in a 3-1 win for Spurs, who reached the knockout stage of the tournament in fine style.
And Winks enhanced his growing reputation with a sublime performance, completely overshadowing Real’s former Tottenham star Luka Modric.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino declared after the game that his team’s win proved they deserve to be regarded as one of Europe’s top sides.
Winks’ display certainly further convinced supporters that he deserves to be regarded as one of the country’s best prospects.
Winks has the potential to be one of the great CMs, has the full package (minus height) & he has #THFC running through the blood.

If you don’t like Harry Winks there is a 100% chance I don’t like you. #COYS #THFC

Harry Winks bossed it tonight. So clean in how he controls and passes the ball. Could chip a golf ball in the hole from 40 yards #THFC

Let’s not nominate him for the ballon d’or like English press usually do, but Winks really looks the real deal. Awareness phenomenal #THFC

Promised myself I wouldn’t get over excited by Winks. He just outplayed Modric and Kroos. Not much point pretending he didn’t #THFC

After watching Modric closely vs Spurs at Wembley, I now believe he is the next Harry Winks :p #coys #thfc #spurs

Glad Luka Modric got to play on the same pitch as the boy Winks tonight. #COYS #THFC
