Boss believes Tottenham target Eze will stay at QPR

Mark Warburton has suggested that QPR could keep star players like Ebere Eze because of the coronavirus crisis.

Tottenham have been linked with Eze, who has been tipped to leave Loftus Road when the transfer window opens.

However, Rangers manager Warburton believes there has to be a doubt over whether the window will in fact open.

“I don’t see how you could have a transfer window,” Warburton told Sky Sports News.

“How can you have a transfer window when people are being laid off and not paid?

“The whole game has got to accept that this is an unprecedented situation. How do we respond to it? The game can’t expect to carry on as per normal.

“There’s no doubt we’ve got two or three very talented young players who will attract interest. Their situation will be key for us.”

It does seem a case of when rather than if England Under-21 international Eze leaves QPR.

He has been outstanding for Rangers and Warburton has no doubt the forward is capable of playing at the top level.

“He’s maintained a great level of consistency, home and away,” Warburton said.

“I honestly believe he is a top-six Premier League player all day long.”
