Paper round-up: Arsenal and Tottenham linked with Bailly

Tottenham and Arsenal are being linked with Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

It comes after former Espanyol and Villarreal man Bailly was left out by United boss Jose Mourinho, prompting speculation about his future.

The Daily Mirror declare that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino “is known to be a big admirer from his time in Spain” and that Arsenal could also move for Bailly in January.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are among a number of clubs interested in Paris St-Germain’s France midfielder Adrien Rabiot, the Daily Express say.

The Mirror reports that Harry Winks is ready play through the pain barrier against Inter Milan this week despite ongoing ankle trouble.

Winks said: “As a footballer you have to get over these battles. I’m not the only footballer who has to play with pain and I won’t be the last.

“There are hundreds of footballers out there that play with pain, and I’m just another one who has to learn to deal with it.”

Aaron Ramsey asked Arsenal boss Unai Emery to substitute him during the win over Newcastle because he was tired, The Sun reports.

Emery said: “He played with (the Wales) national team too much and he asked to change. It was not a big problem but he was tired.”

The Sun also say Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola cancelled his players’ day off because he was unhappy with their performance in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Fulham.
