Two more could be loaned out by QPR before window closes

QPR could be set to offload more players before the loan window closes next week.

West London Sport reports that Blackburn have made an enquiry about Idrissa Sylla and that Portsmouth are interested in Paul Smyth.

Both forwards have fallen further down Steve McClaren’s pecking order following this week’s loan signings of Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed.

Midfielder Ryan Manning has already been allowed to leave, on loan to Rotherham, because he was not in Rangers’ immediate first-team plans.

Sylla, who was signed from Anderlecht in 2016, is certainly not in McClaren’s plans and would be allowed to move on.

Rangers have lost all four league games since McClaren took over as manager earlier this summer.

He was jeered by some of the home fans during the midweek loss to Bristol City and that came after a 7-1 hammering at West Brom.

McClaren desperately needs a win against Wigan today in what he has claimed will be QPR’s stiffest test of the season so far.

He told the club website: “We’ve had tough matches but this is probably the toughest of the season so far.

“We need to give monumental effort. They will be coming here buzzing and confident but we have to knock that out of them and assert ourselves to get those first points on the board.”
