Three QPR stars ready to sign new deals – but club might need to move fast

Grant Hall has become the latest QPR player to declare that he wants to sign a new contract with the club.

Hall’s deal at Loftus Road expires this summer and the defender has told West London Sport he would like to stay.

Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron also recently told West London Sport that they want to sign new contracts at Rangers.

Both those players are also coming towards the end of their contracts and the club have a decision to make as to whether they keep them.

As for Hall, he has been at QPR since being released by Tottenham in 2015 and has re-established himself after recovering from a long-term knee problem – he is currently the club captain.

“I’ve been at QPR for five years and love it, so my thoughts are that I’d like to stay,” he said.

QPR need to move fast

Hall is now a seasoned Championship player and is likely to have other options if QPR do not move to re-sign him.

Football is of course suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic, but when some normality is resumed Rangers will surely move to keep their skipper sooner rather than later.

Hall has made an impressive recovery from his knee problem and has been an important player for Rangers, who went six games unbeaten and moved to within six points of the play-off places when matches were halted because of the coronavirus crisis.

“With everything going on at the moment, there are a lot more important things,” Hall added.

“When the time’s right we’ll talk about it (a new contract), but for the time being it’s on hold. There are much more important things.”
