Yeni Ngbakoto has vowed to “return stronger” next season after a difficult first year at QPR.
Frenchman Ngbakoto struggled for fitness and form following his summer move to Loftus Road from Metz.
His father passed away soon after the winger joined Rangers and as a result he spent some time back in France.
Having already been troubled by a thigh problem, Ngbakoto’s time away from training further affected his fitness.
After replacing the sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, manager Ian Holloway declared that the player was overweight and had been ordered to shed some pounds.
Towards the end of the campaign, Ngbakoto showed glimpses of his ability, not least when scoring a great goal in QPR’s win at Birmingham City.
And he hopes to show more of that kind of form when he returns to the club after his summer break – soon after which Holloway will take his players to a pre-season training camp in Portugal.
In a post on Instagram, Ngbakoto thanked the club and fans and appears to be looking forward to next season.
