QPR are looking to sign Geoff Cameron on loan from Stoke City.
West London Sport reports Rangers have lined up a number of possible signings to add to their options at centre-back and central midfield, but that United States international Cameron is their first choice as he can play in both positions.
Sky Sports, meanwhile, say Aston Villa centre-back Elphick is the man Rangers want to beef up their defence following a troubled start to the season.
West London Sport reports that Elphick is among alternatives Rangers have discussed should they fail to land Cameron and that others include Derby duo Tom Huddlestone and George Thorne and Toulouse’s France Under-21 midfielder Alexis Blin.
West London Sport also reports that QPR are trying to offload striker Idrissa Sylla, who has slipped down the pecking order following the recent loan signings of Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed.
Rangers boss Steve McClaren said: “We’re looking at options with everything at the present moment.
“We’ve got some players we want to come in and we’ve got some players that need to go out on loan, and also some players that need to leave the club.
“Hopefully in the next two or three days that will all be sorted.”
