QPR will consider offers for Lumley as Bristol City eye keeper

QPR could lose goalkeeper Joe Lumley to Bristol City this summer.

Bristol Live reports that City are keen to bring in a new keeper and are interested in Lumley.

Rangers won’t want to lose the youth product but financial restrictions mean they would have no choice but to consider offers.

Financial Fair Play rules continue to make life tough at Loftus Road and the club need to raise funds.

City would therefore stand a good chance if they move for Lumley, who has impressed for the R’s this season.

He was previously a target for the Robins’ city rivals Bristol Rovers, where Lumley was on loan last season.

Rovers were keen for him to return to them at a time when Lumley was the third-choice keeper at QPR.

Alex Smithies was then sold to Cardiff and Lumley later ousted Matt Ingram from the side to make the keeper’s position his own.

That has stirred interest from City – and Rangers may well receive interest for other players, including Luke Freeman.

Freeman has been outstanding for the west London side this season and reports suggest he is a target for Leeds United.

He signed a new contract last year, with Rangers having turned down offers for him from Middlesbrough during the summer transfer window.
