QPR are reportedly looking to tie Luke Freeman to a new contract.
Rangers rejected offers from Middlesbrough for the playmaker during the summer transfer window and an approach from Blackburn Rovers shortly before the deadline was also rebuffed.
And, according to HITC Sport, the club are now looking to extend Freeman’s contract at Loftus Road.
His current deal expires in 2020 and Freeman has been impressive since arriving in west London from Bristol City the season before last.
He has, however, been involved a troubled start for Rangers under boss Steve McClaren, which continued with a 3-0 defeat at Swansea on Saturday.
“I think we had opportunities before them we just weren’t clinical enough,” McClaren told QPR’s website.
“We had opportunities to break but we kept giving the ball away. The final ball wasn’t right and we were always half a yard short on a pass or giving the ball away on the transition when we could have scored. We’re very disappointed at that.
“Swansea scored, we stayed in the game for a long time but in the second half we had two or three very good opportunities but we didn’t get it.
“We are getting punished for mistakes and games are won by sticking the ball in the back of the net and we didn’t do that.”
