QPR set to land Scowen but Bowler looks likely to leave

QPR look set to complete the signing of Barnsley midfielder Josh Scowen, but doubts remain over the future of youngster Josh Bowler.

West London Sport reports that the out-of-contract Scowen has agreed personal terms with the R’s after being offered a deal.

The former Wycombe man, 24, has been targeted as QPR boss Ian Holloway looks to revamp his midfield.

West London Sport have also reported that Holloway is keen to offload Ariel Borysiuk permanently and that Ben Gladwin and Michael Doughty are wanted by Blackburn and Peterborough respectively.

And it looks as though 18-year-old winger Bowler will be leaving the club despite offers being rejected from Everton.

West London Sport reports that the two clubs remain in talks over a possible deal for Bowler after he rejected a new contract.

Sky Sports, meanwhile, go a step further, suggesting Rangers and Everton are close to agreeing a deal for Bowler to move to Goodison Park.

Bowler is under contract until the summer of 2018, having signed an 18-month deal – his first professional contract – with the club in February this year.

He made his first-team debut when he came on as a second-half substitute for Holloway’s side against Norwich City in Rangers’ final match of last season.
