QPR look set to snap up both Charlie Austin and Sam Field – but Todd Kane’s days at the club could well be numbered.
West London Sport reports that Rangers have moved closer to a deal to sign Austin, are on the verge of signing Sam Field, and are set to axe Kane and bring in a new right-back this summer.
Keeping Austin would be a major boost for the club and would go down well with fans as he is a hugely popular figure from his first spell at Rangers.
He scored eight goals following his return on loan from West Brom, who also sent midfielder Field on loan and look ready to let both players leave.
As for Kane, the writing seems to have been on the wall since manager Mark Warburton dropped him after comments he made about rival right-back Osman Kakay.
In an interview with R Generation, Kane insisted he was the better player and claimed that he was previously wanted by Sheffield United for £13m.
More recently, Kane was fined £6,000 and banned for seven matches for using abusive language “referencing nationality or ethnicity” towards Sergi Canos in a derby game against Brentford in February.
