QPR boss Mark Warburton is seemingly determined to secure the signing of Sheffield Wednesday attacker Josh Windass.
Windass previously played in Scotland under Warburton at Rangers and has been linked with a move to west London.
Millwall and Birmingham have also been linked with Windass, who has been tipped to leave Hillsborough in the wake of Wednesday’s relegation from the Championship to League One.
According to The Sun, Wednesday want £5m for Windass – and QPR are willing to double his current wages.
Warburton is keen to bolster his squad after an encouraging second half of last season and has already secured the signings of Charlie Austin, Sam Field, Jordy de Wijs and Andre Dozzell.
The manager has made it clear he wants more new faces in by the time the new campaign gets underway.
“There’s still work to be done,” Warburton recently told QPR’s website.
“There’s still two or three more that we’re looking for to come in and boost the side.
“It’s a long season. We need to have the strength in depth.
“Like every club you’re financially challenged in terms of the Covid landscape and where clubs lie right now.
“We’ve got to use the budget wisely, but recruitment is everything for each and every team. So far so good, but a lot of work still to be done.”
