QPR want to sign former Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong, according to Football.London.
West London Sport have suggested that Bassong, 32, is merely training with Rangers along with Chris Paul while they search for a new club.
But Football.London say Rangers “are thought” to hoping to sign Bassong, who had a three-year spell at Spurs before joining Norwich City, who released him last year.
Defender Paul, 20, was released by the R’s earlier this year and has been given permission to train with the club.
Both players came on as substitutes for QPR’s development side in a match against Nottingham Forest on Monday.
West London Sport reported that, while Paul and Cameroon international Bassong have been allowed to train with QPR, two other players who started Monday’s Under-23 game are having trials with the club.
They are former Tottenham youngster Nathan Oduwa and midfielder Montel Agyemang.
Winger Oduwa, 22, had spells on loan at Glasgow Rangers, Luton, Colchester and Peterborough before being released by Spurs last year. He has since played in Slovenia.
Agyemang, 20, has played for a number of non-League clubs since leaving Leyton Orient in 2016, the most recent being Wealdstone.
