QPR ready to let keeper leave as Warburton looks to trim squad

QPR are ready to let either Joe Lumley or Liam Kelly leave on loan.

West London Sport reports that both goalkeepers are available for a loan move ahead of the transfer deadline and that either could go.

It comes after Seny Dieng was promoted to the first team following unconvincing performances by both Lumley and Kelly.

And now it seems boss Mark Warburton will allow one of them to go elsewhere.

Dieng will be in goal again when Rangers visit Sheffield Wednesday, where new signing Macauley Bonne could make his debut.

Striker Bonne completed a move from Charlton on Friday and is relishing the prospect of playing for the R’s.

“I am really pleased and happy it’s finally done. I can’t wait to get started now,” he told QPR’s website.

“The second I heard there was interest, my head was turned. I’ll easily say that – my head was turned straight away.”

Warburton said: “I am delighted to have him come on board.

“Macauley has already shown himself to be a proven goalscorer at this level, and he did it with a team in the lower half of the division.

“He can score a variety of goals, he’s young, hungry and has a lot of development potential in him.

“He will help to lighten the load for Lyndon Dykes and will certainly give us a different option up front.”
