QPR have injury worries ahead of Brentford clash

QPR are facing some defensive injury worries ahead of Friday’s west London derby against Brentford.

Rangers centre-back Rob Dickie has missed the past two matches with an ankle problem and will be assessed ahead of the game against the Bees.

He has been replaced by Conor Masterson, who suffered a broken nose in Tuesday’s 3-2 win at home to Rotherham.

Masterson was able to carry on and should be available on Friday, but it appears that Yoann Barbet picked up a knock against Rotherham and might be a doubt for the clash with the Frenchman’s former club.

Rangers’ former Brentford boss Mark Warburton does have other options at centre-back, as midfielders Geoff Cameron and Dominic Ball could play there if need be.

But Warburton will be hoping that Dickie, who has impressed this season, will be able to return.

Warburton told West London Sport: “I hope very much he will be available. The medical team are working very hard with him.”

He added: “We might be a bit light, but that is down to the financial landscape as it is now prevents clubs carrying massive squads that you may have done 18 months ago.

“Dom Ball has played 100 games as a centre-half, Geoff Cameron has played Premier League level at centre-half.”
