QPR are not interested in Bristol City’s Kasey Palmer, West London Sport say.
The former Chelsea man has been heavily linked with a return to west London, with some reports suggesting he is on the verge of a move to the R’s.
However, West London Sport say Rangers are not interested in signing Palmer but are looking to bring in cover for playmaker Ilias Chair while he is at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco along with R’s keeper Seny Dieng, who is with Senegal.
West London Sport also say QPR want Alfie Mawson or Michael Hector but Fulham will not let them go, so Birmingham’s Harlee Dean is being considered as a potential option.
Manager Mark Warburton, who is without the frequently injured Jordy de Wijs, is apparently keen to bring in an experienced centre-back during this month’s transfer window.
Rangers are looking for alternatives after missing out on Steve Cook, who backed out of joining them and instead signed for Nottingham Forest from Bournemouth.
Dean is well known to Warburton, having previously played under him at Brentford.
The 30-year-old is under contract at St Andrew’s until the summer of 2023 but could be allowed to move on this month.
