QPR chief suggests new signings are likely

The coronavirus crisis has not stopped QPR making plans for the summer transfer window.

Rangers were busy in the market last summer and are expected to make signings again this time around.

Director of football Les Ferdinand told Sky Sports News that he and his scouting team are continuing to identify potential new signings by looking at footage of players recommended to them.

“That’s what myself and the scouting team have been doing,” he explained.

“Obviously there’s been no games, so we’ve not been able to go out and watch games.

“But we’re on the computers just looking at players being sent to us for when football gets back to normality – players that perhaps we’ll look at for the summer.”

As well as freshening up the squad for next season, Rangers also face decisions over their out-of-contract players.

Grant Hall and veteran defender Angel Rangel are coming towards the end of their respective deals and it remains to be seen whether they will stay a Loftus Road.

Hall has made a good recovery from a persistent knee problem and, even at the age of 37, Rangel has performed well when called upon by manager Mark Warburton this season.
