Steve McClaren says he is in no rush to finalise decisions over his backroom staff following his arrival at QPR.
The new Rangers manager spoke to director of football Les Ferdinand on Monday to discuss possible transfers and coaching appointments.
McClaren, who had a short spell on the coaching staff at QPR in 2013, plans to make at least one major addition to his backroom team. But he says he is happy to bide his time.
“It (being appointed by QPR) has been a quick process. It was done very quickly,” he said.
“I’ve had half a day with Les and I’m taking my time. It’s not like coming in during a season and you’ve got a game on Saturday.
“I’m taking my time over everything. I’m talking with everybody and finding the layout of the club.
“It’s changed a lot from five years ago – I think for the better. So take your time and be patient.”
