QPR manager Steve McClaren has admitted that Grant Hall’s comeback from a knee problem will take “quite a while” to complete.
Hall had surgery earlier this year, having been sidelined for most of last season.
He returned to first-team action in Rangers’ recent Carabao Cup win against Bristol Rovers and is hoping to feature in McClaren’s side after the international break.
But McClaren is determined not to rush the defender – and says the break will be crucial in terms of Hall’s ongoing rehabilitation and bedding in the club’s new signings and formation.
“The main thing is that he came through 60 minutes and is OK,” McClaren told West London Sport.
“He carries on the rehab and it’s going to be quite a while. The international break is going to be huge for all of us in terms of him and of us (the coaching staff) working with the team.”
McClaren switched to a 4-4-2 formation after being in strikers Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed on loan from Burnley and Brighton respectively.
“We’ve finally got that break where we can work with the two strikers, bed in a system and a way of playing that will make us better and better,” the former England boss added.
