QPR are showing an interest in Glasgow Rangers youngster Ryan Hardie ahead of the January transfer window.
West London Sport reports that the R’s have been monitoring the 20-year-old striker ahead of a possible move.
Hardie’s contract expires at the end of the season and with the player struggling to get a look-in at Ibrox, does his future lie elsewhere?
Through the ranks
The Stranraer-born Hardie, who stands at 6ft 3in, is a product of the Gers youth system and progressed to the first team, making his senior debut at the age of 17 in a League Cup game against Falkirk in September 2014.
He has made a total of 16 first-team appearances for Rangers, scoring twice. The majority of those appearances have been as a substitute. His two goals, the second of which was an overhead kick, came in a 3-1 win against Dumbarton in April 2015.
International recognition
Hardie has played for Scotland at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels. Reports in the Scottish media suggest it is his performances for his country’s Under-21 side which has attracted the attention of QPR.
Loan spells
Hardie has been out on loan to Raith Rovers and St Mirren. He scored three league goals in 16 outings for St Mirren and six in 18 for Raith, where he ended last season.
