QPR face the prospect of being without Grant Hall for the entire season.
West London Sport reports that Hall, 26, is due to see a specialist and could require an operation which would rule him out for the rest of the campaign.
Hall has not played for Rangers this term because of a persistent knee problem. His last appearance came against Brighton in April.
Rangers, 15th in the Championship table, have also been without defenders Nedum Onuoha, James Perch and Steven Caulker for much of the season.
On a brighter note for the R’s, manager Ian Holloway has indicated that Massimo Luongo will play against Aston Villa today.
Luongo has been on international duty with Australia, who qualified for next year’s World Cup by beating Honduras in a two-legged play-off.
The midfielder only returned to London on Friday morning and is one of a number of internationals Holloway will need to assess before deciding his line-up to face Villa at Loftus Road
Speaking to QPR’s official website, Holloway, whose team were thrashed 4-0 at Nottingham Forest last time out, seemed optimistic that Luongo will be involved this weekend.
“Massimo Luongo only got back on Friday morning so that’s difficult but I am sure he will be ready to go for us again,” he said.”
