Holloway will take no chances with Robinson

QPR boss Ian Holloway says he will not take any chances with Jack Robinson’s fitness.

The left-back, who has battled back from a long-term knee problem, suffered a hamstring injury during the recent win against Norwich.

He came off at half-time during that game and missed the 3-0 defeat at Ipswich at the weekend.

The problem does not appear to be serious and Robinson has resumed training but will not be considered for Thursday evening’s match against Wolves.

Holloway told West London Sport: “We can’t risk it. He’s out there running but with one game and then almost 10 days (without a game), we can’t risk it.

“I never risk my players. I need him long term, not short term.”

Robinson, signed from Liverpool in the summer of 2014, impressed during his appearance as a wing-back against Norwich before he picked up his injury.

“I thought he was terrific – absolutely the sort of attitude I’m looking for,” Holloway said.

“We lack that a little bit in wide areas – wonderful skill. He was fantastic and we’ve got to do what’s right for him.”

Massimo Luongo will return for the R’s against Wolves, but Steven Caulker is still unavailable because of a hip problem.
