QPR boss Holloway calls for unity

QPR manager Ian Holloway says he told Jack Robinson not to get involved in an exchange with a frustrated Rangers fan during Thursday’s home defeat against Wolves.

Left-back Robinson apparently responded to criticism from a supporter during the match at Loftus Road, where Wolves won 2-1.

“He was arguing with someone in the bottom corner,” Holloway said.

“I told him not to do that because in a minute you’ll get a cross or shot in and they’ll be cheering you, so just concentrate. But it doesn’t help though, does it?”

Holloway was deeply unhappy that some fans booed Karl Henry as the veteran midfelder was about to be brought on as a substitute during the second half.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Holloway said: “I don’t want to hear what happened to Karl Henry. That upsets me more than anything.

“I chose to put an experienced one on and he got booed. Please don’t do that to my players.

“You haven’t seen him play for me yet. You haven’t seen what I’m going to teach him and get him to do, so please don’t do that. I don’t like that. I don’t think that’s right.

“Yes you pay your money and you can say what you like, but I’m here to encourage people. So please don’t do that to my players.

“They’re yours too aren’t they? They might not be your favourite but please don’t do that to my players. I think I’ve got every right to say that.

“Should one of my players be booed before he’s even done anything for me? Please don’t come here with preconceived ideas. Give us a chance. It’s all I’m asking.”
